Parc du Mugel. Autrefois propriété privée, le parc du Mugel est depuis 1987 aménagé et entretenu avec soin par la municipalité de la Ciotat, ce qui lui a valut d'être classé « Jardin remarquable ». D'une superficie d'environ 17 hectares, le parc est naturellement protégé du mistral et des embruns par l'imposant massif.

The Parc du Mugel is located at the level of an ancient delta of a river that flowed here nearly one hundred million years ago. Located in the heart of the Calanques National Park, this river transported sand, gravel and pebbles on its way, which accumulated and welded together.

The park is open from 1 April to 30 September from 8am to 8pm and 1 October to 31 March from 9am to 6pm ( contact the municipality of La Ciotat for more information ). Note: Mugel calanques are overcrowded in summer, particularly for swimming. When possible, take public transport to La Ciotat. Car parks are often full.

The cove is bordered by Le Parc du Mugel, a famous botanical garden. It has two neighbors: Anse du Grand Mugel (to the north) and Anse du Sec (to the south). You can access the spot from Marseille (about 35 km away, 1-hour drive) or from Cassis (11 km away, 25-minute drive). Once in La Ciotat, follow Parc du Mugel/Calanques signs.
